Mode: Full or part-time through modular delivery. You can do the full MA (180 credits) or use fewer credits (60/120) to gain a postgraduate certificate or diploma qualification. Length of Study: 1 – 6 years (as appropriate to your professional needs and personal circumstances)

Attendance: Taught, face-to-face components of the modules in Norwich are of two or three weeks’ duration. Most elective modules are taught intensively over two weeks, but we are pleased to offer MAPDLE participants facilities for a further week for individual reading and study in our library at no extra charge. This is an excellent opportunity for our postgraduate students to get some background reading done while they are in Norwich, and also to map out and perhaps begin their module assignments. Please let us know when applying whether you would like to take advantage of this offer, so that we can reserve accommodation for you at our usual rates.

Entry Requirements: You should ideally have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, plus language teaching experience and the level of English needed for successful completion of a course of study at postgraduate level. You may also be considered if you have extensive language teaching experience but few or no formal qualifications.

  • Management in Language Education (MAMILE)

  • Teaching English for Academic Purposes (MATEAP)
  • Teaching Young Learners (MATYL) – delivered face-to-face or online
  • Technology Assisted Language Learning (MATALL) – delivered face-to-face or online
  • Testing, Evaluation and Assessment (MATEA)
  • Trainer Development (MATD)

 

Dissertation:          60 credits

15,000 words, applying the knowledge and skills acquired on the course. The dissertation is an obligatory module for completion of the MA and is supervised at distance
