The main focus of this new programme is on developing a sound awareness of the linguistic features associated with spoken communication, with particular reference to ICAO’s (International Civil Aviation Organisation) Doc.9835. This provides a better understanding of the terminology and key elements essential for the assessment of linguistic proficiency, specifically in the areas of listening and speaking.
The course is intended for those with limited or no experience of teaching English and has been designed to raise the English language awareness of native and non-native speakers of English.
The LAD-30 Course is scheduled immediately prior to and in preparation for our special programme for ICAO raters, the RAT-30 Course, which involves participants in listening to, analysing and assessing the language competence of aviation personnel.
