ADDITIONAL NOTES
Select English is a sister school of St. Andrew's, Cambridge. It provides courses of English as a Foreign Language to students from all over the world.

During the academic year we offer general English tuition and can also prepare students for examinations such as IELTS. The minimum course length is 2 weeks. When the level of their English has reached the required level, many students transfer to St. Andrew's, Cambridge joining the academic programme.

Classes are small, rarely more than 8 students, and on all levels, apart from absolute beginners. All language skills are covered: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Select English teaching staff are all graduates with teaching qualifications and extensive experience of teaching both in the UK and abroad.

During July and August Select English runs a large and successful summer school, catering for students from the ages of 8 to 80.

The youngest students (8-13) study and live in Barnardiston Hall Preparatory school near Cambridge which provides a safe and stimulating environment. The children study 15 hours per week and have a full sports and social programme every afternoon, including a number of trips. Students often go onto study at Riddlesworth Hall Preparatory School (13-16), which is set in beautiful grounds.

Junior students (14-16) take courses in Cambridge and can choose between junior homestay and junior hall of residence accommodation. As well as our 20-hour Junior course we also have English + subject courses: English + Science, English + Musical Theatre and English + Art (new for 2013). These are very popular and split English tuition (10 hours) with content, subject-centred study in English (also 10 hours).

Older students (17+) can choose between residential courses at Fitzwilliam, one of the 32 Cambridge University Colleges, or classes at Select 8 & IELTS in our new centre in the heart of Cambridge.

All courses offer 20 hours per week and a lively social programme after lessons and at the weekends. Every Saturday there is a full-day trip to London or another place of interest. A number of students have attended Select English courses more than once, a fact we all cherish.
