First founded 1568, St Edmund’s College is a very old, traditional boarding school near London. During the academic year we prepare students to enter prestigious British universities.
In July and August our international summer school is specially designed for the young student aged 9-16. We have 180 bed places and at least 25 different nationalities.
Location: Situated in nearly 500 acres of parkland, a safe rural environment for children, the College is less than one hour from the centre of London, or the historic university city of Cambridge. This is the best of both worlds.
Accommodation: The course fee includes full board accommodation in twin bedrooms on campus, sharing with one student from a different country.
Three hot meals every day are provided in the school dining room. Packed meals are provided for excursions.
Activities programme: 2 full day excursions each week, on Wednesday and Saturday. Everyone has the opportunity to visit London on excursion, attend a West End theatre production, see the historic sights and cultural highlights. We also visit other famous places eg Cambridge, Canterbury, Windsor, Oxford, Brighton etc There are also local excursions during the week eg bowling, skating, cinema etc.
Sports: The campus has its own sports hall, indoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts and many sports fields. The daily choice of sports and excursions are all fully supervised and all included in the course fee. There are no extras to pay. The activities programme operates every afternoon and evening and all weekend.
Students are taught in 3 age ranges: 9-12, 13-14 and 15-16, and all levels of English up to Bilingual. Our British Schools Preparation Course is specifically designed for students who intend to enter a British school academic year.
Arrival day is Sunday and departure day is Saturday. The school fee includes airport transfers at London Stansted and London Heathrow airports.
