City of Sunderland
Sunderland, the city by the sea, is located on the northeast coast of England and is nestled between countryside and coastline. The city has a population of around 300,000 and is well connected to the nearby cities of Newcastle and Durham. Newcastle airport can be reached in less than 45 minutes. Leave the city centre and within minutes beautiful countryside and coastlines surrounds you, making it ideal for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling and water sports. Within the city centre there are public parks, historical attractions and modern shopping facilities to enjoy. On the riverside you will find the National Glass Centre, celebrating Sunderland’s 1,300-year-old glass-making tradition.
