About Us

Students International LtdStudents International is a family owned business in Melton Mowbray - a small town that gives confidence particularly to those students away from home for the first time. The school was established in 1984 and is located in East Central England close to the main motorway network and with good rail connections. It prides itself on the flexibility of course design that is offered to groups and individuals. The majority of students live with British host families many of whom have more than 10 years experience in looking after foreign students.

The original summer school operation, recognised by the British Council, has been expanded to include year-round tuition including preparation for IELTS, FCE, CAE and CPE examinations. It is a centre for TOEIC and ESOL examinations. With its central location, interesting excursions both north and south are easily arranged and destinations include London, Edinburgh, York, Warwick, and Oxford. Residential courses can be offered in the summer months. Teacher training courses for the Trinity College London Certificate in TESOL are offered four times a year. Students International is the only centre accredited for the TEYL (Teaching English for Young Learners) qualification.

The company director also acts as guardian to students attending boarding schools in the UK and is accredited by AEGIS (Association of Educational Guardians for International Students). The International Study Centre developed to give language support for students preparing to enter UK boarding schools and universities. Whilst concentrating mainly on English, other academic subjects - maths, science, economics, business studies - are studied to improve understanding of vocabulary and concepts. Classes are small - up to six - allowing students to receive a lot of individual tuition. The full -time programme also includes sports and excursions.

The Business Course aims to improve the confidence of International Business or Professional people who may need English language support generally or for specific areas of their work.  Course entry level B1 – independent user.

Naturally, every student has different needs.  Courses are a mixture of one-to-one lessons and small group sessions. All students take an initial English Assessment Test and we conduct a needs analysis.  This will identify the strong and weak points of the student in order to draw up a personal study plan to optimise time in the classroom.
