Totnes is a unique small market town in the heart of the Devon countryside between the wilderness of Dartmoor and the picturesque South Devon coastline. The town is famous as a centre for art, music and alternative living and has always been the home of artists and authors. The River Dart runs through Totnes providing a gateway to the coast and beautiful riverside walks to Dartington Hall and Gardens or Sharpham Vineyard.

Language in Totnes is situated in the historic Gate House building in the very centre of Totnes, where we have been teaching English for 30 years! One of our classrooms is actually within the clock tower which overlooks the Totnes High Street! We have large and airy classrooms, internet and wireless access, a student library and a student common room to relax and talk with your fellow students or the Language in Totnes staff.

On the busy High Street you can find alternative and traditional shops, cafes and restaurants and the school is 2 minutes walk from the Market Square, where weekly markets are held on Fridays and Saturdays.

Totnesians are a welcoming and friendly people who always have the time to stop and speak to you, giving you many great opportunities to learn about the different cultures in Totnes and to practise your English at the same time!

All of our adult homestay accommodation is within walking distance of the school so there is no need to take public transport during your stay. If you wish to travel by train or bus to places of interest the school is 5 minute's walk from both stations.

All the staff at Language in Totnes look forward to welcoming you to the school and helping you to become part of this fascinating town community!
