The academic English programme normally prepares students for the IELTS examination, although some students work towards Cambridge or TOEFL examinations.
The IELTS (International English Language Testing Sysytem) Preparation Programme is intended for non-native speakers of English that require both an improvement in their English language skills and an internationally recognised qualification. For prospective University students this qualification is required to attend University in the
Prospective students can enrol on a weekly basis and take up to one year to sit the examinations. We provide advice on the appropriate length of programme, based on the student’s aims and previous attainments.
Students have 30 x 45 minutes of weekly tuition in class, one session with their personal tutor each week, and we recommend a further 10 hours of private study. Library membership is arranged. Formal progress tests take place monthly and all work is assessed during the week.
Extra private tuition can be arranged at additional cost.
